Journal of Diagnostic Medicine (JDM) by ADOM Academy

The Journal of Diagnostic Medicine (JDM) welcomes high-quality submissions that advance diagnostic accuracy, clinical reasoning, and patient care. These guidelines outline the standards and requirements for authors preparing manuscripts for consideration. 

 

Scope of the Journal

JDM publishes scholarly work focused on diagnostic medicine, including but not limited to:

  • Diagnostic imaging and interpretation

  • Laboratory and molecular diagnostics

  • Pathology and clinical correlation

  • Diagnostic decision-making across specialties

  • Emerging diagnostic technologies

  • Case-based diagnostic education

 

Submissions should emphasize clinical relevance, accuracy, and educational value.

Article Types Accepted

JDM considers the following manuscript categories:

  • Original Research
    Reports of novel diagnostic studies, clinical investigations, or methodological advancements.

  • Review Articles
    Comprehensive, evidence-based reviews synthesizing current knowledge in diagnostic medicine.

  • Case Reports & Case Series 
    Clinically instructive cases highlighting diagnostic challenges, pitfalls, or innovations.

  • Educational & Clinical Correlation Articles 
    Articles designed to support teaching, learning, and interdisciplinary understanding.

  • Specialty-Focused Diagnostic Reviews
    Submissions addressing diagnostic considerations within specific medical specialties.

Manuscript Preparation

General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Content should be clear, structured, and evidence-based.

  • Use professional, neutral, and academic language.
     

Formatting

  • Submit manuscripts in an editable format (e.g., DOCX).

  • Use clear section headings and logical organization.

  • Include figures and tables where appropriate, with descriptive captions.

  • All abbreviations must be defined at first use.
     

References & Citations

  • References must be accurate and complete.

  • Use a consistent citation style throughout the manuscript.

  • Cite primary sources whenever possible.

  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all references.
     

Figures, Tables & Media

  • Images and figures should be high resolution and clearly labeled.

  • Tables should be concise and self-explanatory.

  • All media must be original or accompanied by appropriate permissions.
     

Ethical & Disclosure Requirements

Authors must disclose:

  • Conflicts of interest

  • Funding sources

  • Ethical approval where applicable

  • Patient consent for case reports or identifiable data

JDM adheres to strict standards of publication ethics and integrity.
 

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo editorial screening followed by peer review when appropriate. Review criteria include:

  • Scientific accuracy

  • Clinical relevance

  • Educational value

  • Clarity and structure

  • Alignment with JDM’s mission

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback.

Editorial Decision
