A liver ultrasound is a safe, non-radiative scan that evaluates the liver and surrounding hepatobiliary structures using sound waves only. This screening allows us to obtain a broad view of liver size, texture, and anatomy, helping identify early signs of conditions that may benefit from follow-up care. This screening helps evaluate and rule out: Liver Liver enlargement (hepatomegaly) Fatty liver changes (increased echogenicity) Liver masses or focal lesions Surface contour irregularities Biliary System (as visualized) Bile duct dilation Intrahepatic ductal changes Gallbladder–liver interface abnormalities Portal & Hepatic Vasculature (visual overview) Portal vein enlargement Abnormal flow patterns (limited assessment) Signs suggestive of portal hypertension Adjacent Structures Ascites (free abdominal fluid) Liver displacement due to surrounding pathology Liver ultrasound is quick, painless, and completely free of radiation. Your participation helps our students gain hands-on experience while providing our community with an opportunity for early awareness and preventive evaluation.
