A kidney ultrasound is a safe, non-radiative scan that evaluates both kidneys and the surrounding structures. This screening helps identify early changes that can affect filtration, hydration, and overall urinary health. This screening helps rule out: Kidney Stones Detecting stones or early calcifications that may obstruct urine flow. Hydronephrosis Swelling of the kidney caused by backed-up urine, often from an obstruction. Cysts or Masses Fluid-filled cysts, benign growths, or abnormalities in kidney tissue. Changes in Kidney Size or Shape Enlargement, shrinkage, or asymmetry that may reflect underlying conditions. Scarring or Chronic Kidney Changes Patterns that may indicate long-term strain or inflammation. Obstruction in the Urinary Tract Early signs of blockage affecting kidney drainage. Abnormal Blood Flow Patterns (as visualized) Indications of reduced perfusion or vascular changes. Kidney ultrasound is quick, painless, and completely free of radiation.
