The Birth of Sonographers' Day (10/10)

How a student assignment at ADOM Academy created a new day to celebrate sonographers.

At the Academy of Diagnostic and Osteopathic medicine, we believe that creativity is a powerful tool for growth and resilience.

Recently, students were given an assignment: create something - anything. What unfolded went beyond the classroom.

From this exercise came the inspired idea to declare October 10th (10/10) as Sonographers’ Day. One day to celebrate clarity, precision, and the presence that sonographers bring to patient care. Their spark became inspiration.

Thanks to the creativity of three ADOM Academy students, Mary Vincent, Victoria Siple and Connor Trainor, October 10th (10/10) now stands as Sonographer Day, a celebration of the profession and the clarity it brings to the world.

To honor their creativity and vision, ADOM Academy presents The Sonographer’s Sen10ces, a reflection that weaves the number “10” into the values of the sonography field.

It’s part poem, part mantra, and wholly a tribute to the heart of sonography.

The Sonographer’s Sen10ces

With unwavering at10tion and purposeful in10tion,

we bring in10grity and focused in10sity to every scan.

Each movement is precise, each moment in10tional,

guided by care, curiosity, and clinical excellence.

We at10d to patients with presence and compassion,

offering sus10ance of empathy,

remaining con10t and steady in restoring balance,

with an of10-unseen dedication

to the main10ance of life’s most delicate rhythms.

Through the ex10sion of our skill,

we reveal the unseen behind the cur10,

unlocking hidden po10tial within the human form.

We ensure re10tion of truth,

not pre10ding certainty,

but seeking and sharing clarity.

Even in moments of 10sion,

we lis10, deeply, patiently.

We seek to ligh10 lives and brigh10 days with echoes made visible,

truths writ10 in grayscale and gradients.

We shor10 the path to understanding,

sof10 fear with each reassuring word,

each image that speaks without sound.

we transform practice into precision,

stillness into story,

We give the world 10/10 clarity,

not just by seeing with sound,

but by healing with presence,
