A gallbladder ultrasound is a safe, non-radiative scan used to evaluate the gallbladder and biliary system. This screening helps detect early changes that may affect digestion, bile flow, and overall abdominal comfort. This screening helps rule out: Gallstones Small or large stones that can block the bile ducts or cause pain. Sludge Thickened bile that may lead to stone formation or inflammation. Cholecystitis (Gallbladder Inflammation) Wall thickening or signs of irritation in the gallbladder. Biliary Obstruction Blockages affecting the flow of bile into the digestive system. Polyps or Masses Growths or irregularities within the gallbladder. Wall Thickening or Structural Abnormalities Early signs of dysfunction or chronic irritation. Dilation of the Bile Ducts Suggesting obstruction or impaired bile drainage. Gallbladder ultrasound is quick, painless, and completely free of radiation. Your participation supports our students’ hands-on learning while giving our community an opportunity for early detection and preventive care.
