Carotid Ultrasound Screening
Reserve Your Spot
A carotid ultrasound is a safe, non-radiative scan of the arteries in the neck that supply blood to the brain. During this screening, we look for early signs of circulatory changes that may place someone at higher risk for future health concerns. This screening helps rule out: Carotid Plaque Formation Early buildup of plaque (fat, calcium, or cholesterol deposits) along the artery walls. Carotid Artery Narrowing (Stenosis) Reduced blood flow to the brain caused by narrowed vessels. Blockages or Flow Disturbances Areas where blood is not moving smoothly or is partially obstructed. Abnormal Turbulence or Hemodynamic Changes Subtle flow abnormalities that may indicate developing vascular disease. Risk Factors for Stroke Identifying patterns that could increase the chance of reduced blood flow or clot formation. Vessel Wall Irregularities Thickening, irregular contours, or early vascular changes. Carotid ultrasound is quick, painless, and completely free of radiation. Your participation helps our students learn and allows ADOM to support healthier communities through early detection and education.
