ADMISSIONS STEPS

The following items are necessary for your application to ADOM. Please ensure you submit these along with your application by the specified deadline. Applications with incomplete materials by the deadline will be deferred to the next available term. Note that ADOM has limited class sizes and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so classes tend to fill up quickly. Once you have completed these items, upload them and complete the application here.

APPLICATION FEE

There is currently no application fee to apply to ADOM. Accepted application pay a $100 non-refundable registration fee upon admission.

TRANSCRIPTS

Official high school transcripts or other high school equivalent records are required. All college transcripts (if applicable) and any other experience at previous educational institutions showing academic performance.

ENTRANCE EXAM

ADOM requires applicants to take and submit an open-book exam on anatomy and physiology designed to assess their foundational knowledge.

PERSONAL STATEMENT / ESSAY

For individuals who do not have formal patient care experience, such as caring for a sick loved one or a personal healthcare experience they endured. This is a written piece that provides insight into their motivations, personal experiences in patient care, and why they wish to pursue a career in diagnostic medicine.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Two letters are required, preferably from academic or professional references (not relatives or co-workers) who can attest to your character, academic abilities or relevant experiences to gauge your potential in the field.

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP

Proof of US citizenship is required for all applicants this time. In addition to a passport or state ID, applicants must also have a social security card.

IMMUNIZATIONS

ADOM students must either present documentation of having had Hepatitis B injections 1 and 2 and a TB test within 6 months or must complete the first two Hepatitis B injections and a TB test prior to enrollment. If the TB test result is positive, the applicant must be cleared to attend by a physician prior to enrollment. In addition, Connecticut Department of Health requires the following immunizations for all students entering post-secondary educational institutions: proof of immunity against measles, mumps and rubella, and proof of the meningitis immunization or a signed meningitis declination and must be submitted to the Admissions Office for evaluation within 30 days of the program start date. Immunization requirements are generally based on the current recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for healthcare workers and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

DRUG SCREENING

Conducted at ADOM to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Incoming students are required to pass a drug screening test and provide proof of a negative result with their admissions documents. The student is responsible for the associated testing fees. Inconclusive test results, including a dilute and/or insufficient sample, will require the applicant to be retested within 24 hours at his/her expense at a designated collection center. A second inconclusive test result, including a dilute and/or insufficient sample will be considered a positive drug screen. Students will not be granted admission to the program with a positive, insufficient, dilute, or inconclusive test result.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK

Must be completed at ADOM to ensure safety and compliance with clinical requirements. The background check may include, but is not limited to, criminal history records, sex offender registry, and other relevant records.

MEDICAL EXPERIENCE VERIFICATION

Documentation verifying any previous medical or healthcare-related work experience.

RESUME

Submit a current resume detailing your educational background, work experience, and any relevant skills.

INTERVIEW

An opportunity to discuss your interests and qualifications directly with ADOM admissions staff.

ENROLLMENT FORMS

Complete all necessary forms to officially register your interest and personal details with ADOM.

FINANCIAL READINESS

Assessment to verify your ability to financially support your education at ADOM, including tuition, fees, and other associated costs throughout the duration of the program.

BLENDED EDUCATION READINESS

Assess your readiness for a hybrid learning environment combining online and on-site education.

DOWN PAYMENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

A minimum initial payment of $2,500 required to reserve your enrollment in the program.
