CREDENTIALS

Ultrasound Credentialing Pathways

There's more than one path to become a credentialed Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist. Although this can be a complicated journey, we strive to make it a little easier to understand. 

 

ADOM graduates are eligible to apply for credentialing exams from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon graduation.

Education Required for Credentialing Exams

High School Diploma

or Equiivalent

Graduates with a High School Diploma or the equivalent are eligible to take the Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) credentialing exam from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon graduation from ADOM. Upon passing the RVS exam, applicants are eligible to apply to take the ARDMS exam.

Applicants with a HSD/GED qualify to become a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) via the Cardiovascular Credentialing International Examination under Prerequisite RVS5.

Associate's Degree

AA or AS

Graduates with an Associate's degree are eligible to take the Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) credentialing exam from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon graduation from ADOM. Upon passing the RVS exam, applicants are eligible to apply to take the ARDMS exam.

applicants with an AA or AS qualify to become a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) via the Cardiovascular Credentialing International Examination under Prerequisite RVS5.

Bachelor's Degree

or Higher Degree

Graduates with a Bachelor's Degree or higher education are eligible to apply to take the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Abdomen Exam upon ADOM graduation. They are also eligible to apply to take the Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) credentialing exam from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon graduation from ADOM.
